The Sports Council are a team of dedicated students, working to make AIS's Sports better everyday.
Hi, I'm Selena, I'm the president of the Sports Council and have been a member of it for almost 4 years. I love getting involved in sports whether it's helping with the set-up/scorekeeping or competing with other schools.
Though I've played many different sports before, the main sport I'm currently involved in is volleyball. I started playing volleyball when I was 14 and I've been loving it ever since. I especially enjoy the school's community surrounding volleyball as I've gotten to meet so many other great players and you get to travel whilst playing your favourite sport.
Hello! My name is Van and I am the current vice-president of the Sports Council. Although I don't currently play a sport, I enjoy watching team sports such as Volleyball and Football. In Sports Council, I design graphic items and posts for Titans' social media accounts.
Having been at AIS for over 10 years, I particularly love watching the united support of observers and fans alike for our Titans athletes regardless of sports and team rivalries. The community spirit behind the sports program is what truly makes Titans unique. I'm excited to see yet another successful sports year and look forward to working with the sports council to make this year a memorable year for Titans athletes.
Hi, my name is Aina and I’ve been going to AIS for around 6 years. I’ve played many sports before but if I had to choose one as my top favourite it would have to be volleyball. I love volleyball for many reasons, for example, it isn’t a contact sport, I love hitting the ball with all my strength, and I have an advantage with my height. If I had to choose my favourite memory from playing sports, it would be playing in ASAC or beating EIS in the volleyball finals.
I look forward to participating in more sports events and overseas tournaments, as well as working in the Sports Council.
I’m Henry and this is my 7th year at AIS. Football is the sport that I have dedicated my life to it. Even though I’m relatively short, my main position on the field is as a goalkeeper (thus my reflex can cover my height weakness). Off the field, I’m the co-manager at TitansFC (AIS year 13 football club) while I also take care of the football section and have a job as a designer in the Sports Council.
One of my most memorable moments is the Mr. Evans farewell match between SNATITS and TitansFC. It is a special occasion when all senior football players in the school gather to say goodbye to one of the best teachers/coaches ever in AIS history. Throughout this year, I will continue contributing toward football and sport overall at AIS.
I'm Bin, one of the AIS Sports Council members. Sports are truly amazing to me, as they not only improve our physical health but also boost mental well-being and create a balance with academics. Whenever we have physical education classes or after-school training, I feel eager and excited. I'm quite athletic and can play most sports fairly well, but my best sport is football, which I've been playing since early primary school. I've been on the A team since Year 4 and recently served as the AISA football captain, which helped me develop my leadership skills. I believe this is why I was chosen to be a 2024-2025 sports council member, specializing in football and promoting it from kindergarten to senior levels.
At AIS, we have fantastic facilities for training and competition, and students have the opportunity to compete both locally and internationally, which is really fun because we get to travel and make new friends. With a community that values commitment, integrity, and respect, I believe AIS sports are thriving!
Hi, my name is Teddy and I’ve been here at AIS for a decade. I have been a member of the Sports Council for 2 years with my role being in charge of Volleyball games in school whether that’s scorekeeping or setting up the nets for the games. Throughout my time here at AIS I have played many sports like Basketball, Football, Badminton and now Volleyball being my main sport. I am a current player from the U19 boys Volleyball team, I love volleyball for its competitiveness and inter-school matches, having personal experiences from playing tournaments and matches inside and outside school. I love the adrenaline and thrill of playing Volleyball.
I look forward to participating in more volleyball matches and working closely with the Sports Council.
GO, TITANS!!!!
Hi, my name is Saki. This is my third year at AIS. I'm passionate about sports and love to stay active. I participate in swimming, touch rugby, netball, and tennis. Out of all these, swimming is my favourite one because I can see the direct results of my hard work in my improving times. I am in charge of swimming and netball in the Sports Council.
One of the things I love most about being part of the Titans sports program is the opportunity to make new friends and learn important things like respecting people such as opponents and coaches while enjoying sports. I'm excited to join many sports, contribute to my team, and work hard together with my teammates to achieve goals.
Hi, my name is Shu and I'm in charge of the basketball department at the Sports Council. Being a Titan for 6 years, I have been joining the different age categories of basketball games, and I had to play in the position of shooting guard. I am also the captain of the U19 basketball team, where I have to manage all the players in the team to be on the same page and aim to win the championship.
One of my most memorable moments as a Titans was the preparation day for the AISA game, where all the Titans prepared for the AISA Games by training and having fun together. There were a lot of funny scenes that were very memorable. I really appreciate the effort of the sports director and coaches who let us athletes experience such a wonderful school life.
Hello, I’m Yurika, and I’m currently in Year 12. I’ve been playing basketball for 4 years and swimming for the past few years. Basketball is my top favorite sport. It is because when I am playing basketball, I can focus on the game itself and my distractions disappear. Also, even when I'm sad or tired, playing basketball lifts my spirits and gives me energy.
In the sports council, I’m in charge of the department of basketball. I help out with basketball games, tryouts, and all the activities that are related to basketball. As an athlete at AIS, I feel involved in the community, and the coaches always pay attention to each player individually, which allows me to focus on my growth, so I really appreciate the environment and the coaches I have.
Hello my name is Jay, I've been here at AIS for 9 years now and currently in year 12 doing IB. I play various sports but mainly Basketball, Football and Volleyball. My role within the Sports Council is that I manage the basketball community and help organize the school's sport events. What I love about AIS's Sports teams are that we are a family, we win together and we suffer together no one is isolated. Another factor that interests me is that we always bounce back, after a loss, we don't mourn and reminisce about the loss but we get back up our feet and strive to be a better team. I also love my girlfriend!
Hi, my name is Anna, and I’m in Year 12. This is my eighth year at AIS. I’ve been playing golf for about a year now. While I’m still working on my skills, the game has really helped me with my patience and gives me satisfaction when I make a good shot. My role in the sports council is the photographer, and one thing that I love about the Titans sport is that they never give up even when they’re losing and at their lowest point. I’m looking forward to capturing the spirit of the athletes of our Titans.
Xin chao!!!!! My name is Cherry and I am a member of Sports Council. My role in sports council includes giving ideas and managing what goes up on our social media page. I have discovered my interest in football and it is now the main sport that i play! One thing that i looooove about sports at AIS is our community. Many of our Titans athletes (including myself) had formed such strong bonds with their teammates and coaches through sports, with laughter and cries through victories and losses, we all definitely have a deep emotional connection when it comes to sportsmanship!!
